Research and Development Manager, Big Ass Solutions
Thomas Lesser, research and development manager at Big Ass Solutions, leads a team of Big Ass engineers that create and test new product ideas. Their work often leads to new intellectual property, business case development, field tests and early-stage product specifications. For instance, his team contributed to the business’ earliest IoT use cases, including integrations with Nest’s learning thermostat. Lesser also explores potential business partnerships with companies around the country and serves as one of BAS’ primary liaisons with academic institutions. He is actively involved in the ASHRAE technical committees responsible for producing thermal comfort and air disinfection standards, work that has taken him to Haiti for the inauguration of treatment centers that incorporate BAS’ technology.
